Princess Margarita of Bourbon-Parma is a member of the Dutch Royal Family, as the aunt of King Willem-Alexander. She was born on October 13, 1943, in The Hague, Netherlands, as the second daughter of Prince Xavier of Bourbon-Parma and Princess Madeleine de Bourbon de Parme.
Princess Margarita was educated in the Netherlands and Belgium, and later studied fashion design. She worked as a designer in Paris before she got married to the Dutch businessman Edwin Karel Willem de Roy van Zuydewijn in 2001.
In 2003, Princess Margarita and her husband were involved in a controversy when allegations of financial improprieties and mismanagement were made against them. The Dutch Royal Family distanced themselves from Princess Margarita and her husband, and the couple subsequently divorced in 2006.
Since then, Princess Margarita has been involved in various charitable activities and has become a patron of several organizations. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Dutch Red Cross.
